Background and Professional Experience
Born and raised in Pasadena, California, William Marsh graduated from San Marino High School in 1988 before earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning & Development from the University of Southern California in 1993.
His career in construction began as a laborer with Oltman’s Construction, where he worked for three years before joining Hathaway Dinwiddie Construction Company as an intern in 1990. Upon graduating from USC, he was hired full-time at Hathaway Dinwiddie, where he spent nearly a decade honing his expertise in construction management.
In 1998, William founded Huntington Management LLC, overseeing projects for the University of Southern California and the Los Angeles Archdiocese until 2011. His strong leadership and project management skills led USC to hire him as Director of Construction, a role he held from 2011 to 2019.
In the fall of 2019, William was recruited by Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) as Vice President for Real Estate and Development. He played a key role in major real estate transactions and entitlement procedures, including the ambitious CHLA 2050 Master Plan. However, post-pandemic financial challenges, such as staffing shortages, rising medical costs, and constrained Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements, ultimately impacted the hospitals long-term expansion plans, leading to the termination of his position in mid-2024.
